Christians need to be life long learners. This belief drives our Christian Education at Westminster.

It isn't easy being a person of faith in the world, and just as a Junior High education is not enough for those in the work force, neither is a Christian education that ends with Sunday School enough in our life of faith.

At their February meeting the leadership of the church unanimously agreed that beginning in the fall of 2007, 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings will be identified as the Education Hour for all ages. It is our hope that by offering adult education opportunities at the same hour that our children are in their classes, it will be easier for adults of all ages to participate in education at Westminster.

What does that mean? It means that from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 every morning, people of all ages will be growing in their faith. The Adult Education Task Force is working hard to provide you a wider range of education opportunities during this new Education Hour, from large classes that bring everyone together, to personalized small groups that focus on the needs of particular demographics.

In the future we hope to provide the space for weekly parenting groups that focus on the challenges of raising young kids, traditional bible studies, classes that focus on the topical issues of the day, and discussions that use clips from movies and television to get at issues of faith.

Keep your eyes open for more information to come on this exciting development in our community faith. Taking time to talk with others about God, the Bible, and the issues of the day will deepen your faith and strengthen your relationship to God and one another.
